Manchester United have contacted Chelsea over a possible transfer deal for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko while Arsenal are also keeping tabs, MySportDab reports.
United are interested in bringing Bakayoko over as they are facing the prospect of losing Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic this summer.
The Gunners are also keeping an eye on developments as the north London club’s manager Unai Emery thinks highly of the France international.
The midfielder returned to Chelseaafter spending last season on loan with AC Milan and resumed training with the London club.
Newly-appointed Blues manager Frank Lampard is expected to meet with the 24-year-old ace and a decision about his future could be made after the team kick off their training camp in Ireland next week.
If Lampard decides the Frenchman is surplus to requirements then Manchester United and Arsenal could make a move for him.
However, Chelsea have been slapped with a transfer ban that won’t allow them to make any signings in the next two windows.
The Blues have already lost their top star from last season Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and will therefore be reluctant to let players go this summer.
The club was found guilty of breaching FIFA rules around the transfers of minors.
Chelsea have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport but are still expected to serve the ban this season because they didn’t ask CAS to freeze the decision whiletheir case is being considered.
Bakayoko joined the Premier League giants in 2017 following an incredible season with Monaco.
However, he couldn’t really stand out in his first campaign despite his 43 appearances for the club and was loaned out to Milan.
